The Jameson Comedy Tour

Sometimes less is more, but not in the case of the Jameson Comedy Tour. Veteran standups Danny Bevins, Steve Byrne, Billy Gardell, and Nick Griffin each have a go at making audiences laugh. "I read a book about Mt. Everest," Bevins informs the audience. "I'm not a mountain climber but I live on the third floor and I smoke, so I can kind of relate." Byrne is a bit more irreverent. "I ask the audience if there's anybody in the military, and usually there are one or two," he says. "And then I say, 'I was in the Navy for three weeks. I worked at Old Navy for three weeks.' They just eat that joke up, and I think it's one of the silliest jokes I've ever written." Griffin's act borders on neurosis. "I was talking to a friend of mine this week," he recalls. "And he said, 'Nick, remember, no matter how bad it gets, there's always someone worse off than you.' So, now I'm depressed and worried about this other poor guy." Audiences may recognize Gardell from his work in last season's Desperate Housewives finale, in which he made advances toward Eva Longoria. "I got to kiss her, and then she slapped me. It was like being married," he laughs. 18+.
