After our recent painful cold snap, a trip to the beach would certainly hit the spot. Unfortunately, Minnesota's beaches won't be usable for another five months. Sad. And who can really afford a trip to some exotic, sun-soaked locale in these times? But if you're looking for a beach setting, complete with sand, frolicking, and chiseled hotties, you're in luck. AVP's Hot Winter Nights offers a night of high-caliber beach volleyball in the climate-controlled environment of the Target Center. Along with Olympic gold medalist Todd Rogers and other top professional beach volleyball players, 200 tons of sand will be brought in for the matches. Despite the beach setting inside, remember to leave your sandals and swimwear at home; the forecast for outside the arena calls for snow and a low of 4 degrees.
