Adult Swim Presents Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job! Tour 2009

There's a lot to dislike and even hate about the Tim and Eric Awesome Show. The Adult Swim sketch comedy is often unfunny, always uncomfortable, and usually confusing to non-stoned viewers. Though it's a national phenomenon, the defiantly lo-fi program looks like public access TV, with deliberately abrupt transitions, awkward pauses, harsh lighting, and makeup and wigs—heck, the entire wardrobe—apparently chosen or applied by a four-year-old. So why recommend it? Because for all its shortcomings, comedy's most uneven show has moments of sheer genius and absurd brilliance unseen since the demise of Mr. Show; simply check out the "Eric's Banking Problem" or "Gravy Robbers" bits online for proof. A cadre of collaborators including David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, John C. Reilly (as the incomparable Dr. Steve Brule), and, inexplicably, Tom Skeritt make the TV show fly, and it's rumored that Jeff Goldblum and Fred Willard will join the live show. Great job!
