Form + Content X2

In celebration of its second anniversary this coming March, Form + Content Gallery will show work by emerging artists, exhibited side-by side with the artists who inspire and influence them. Robyn Stoller-Awend and Rachel Breen's genomes dance off of each other in mixed-media (Stoller-Awend's Ineffable Helix) and copper sculpture (Breen's Re-tain). Light, darkness, and the macabre collide in both Faye Passow's lithograph Daily Life of Superwoman and James Boyd-Brendt's intaglio Ruined Mill. Artists Leah Golberstein and Aribert Munzner both draw inspiration from the dawn of humanity, though one expresses it through paper sculpture and the other though acrylic painting. While many works share aesthetic and conceptual similarities, quite a few pieces are parallel in ways that might surprise you. Opening reception 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, January 10.
Jan. 10-Feb. 7, 2009
