An Emmy winner and a girls' Catholic high school religion teacher walk into a bar.... It sounds like the setup for a clichéd joke, but it's going to be the scene at Scott Hansen's Comedy Gallery on New Year's Eve. Jeff Cesario, a local comic who strangely has found more success and acclaim outside his home state than within, has notched two Emmys and a Writers Guild of America Award writing for Dennis Miller Live and The Larry Sanders Show, and has become a regular on late-night talk shows. He also wrote the Michael Keaton bomb Jack Frost. With all his success, it's a bit troubling that his résumé still mentions that. Anyway, Cesario's comedy spans a respectable chunk of the spectrum from current events and politics to the old standup standby "men and women are different" stuff. Cavanagh, a former high school teacher, will bring his clean-cut music-centric act to balance Cesario's saltier side.
