Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants

The Vikings really couldn't have hoped for a better way to test their worth than playing the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants in the final game before the playoffs. The Giants cakewalked through much of the regular season before losing consecutive games in weeks 13 and 14 to Philadelphia and Dallas, and will doubtlessly be looking to sharpen their skills on the Vikings. For the Vikings, who have looked increasingly legitimate as the season has gone on, the big question mark will be with the man taking the snaps. If Tarvaris Jackson can continue his revival from golden boy to benchwarmer to season savior after Gus Frerotte was injured, the Vikes should have a decent chance of staying competitive against the Giants' 10th-ranked pass defense. And watch for the ground-game showdown of the season as the Vikings' league-leading rush defense will have its hands full with New York's double ground threat of Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward, both averaging more than 4.5 yards per rush. $15-$130. 1 p.m. 900 S. Fifth St., Minneapolis; 612.338.4537.
