If your opinion of the Blue Man Group was formed while watching the hilariously inept Tobias *Fünke character from Arrested Development attempt to be a performer in the popular stage troupe, it's high time you reconsider. Yes, the Blue Man Group, with their cobalt latex bald caps, seemed kind of cheesy and un-hip in their Intel processor commercials years ago, and it would be very hard to look a record-store clerk in the eyes while buying one of Blue Man Group's instrumental albums. But they've been touring the globe for years with their party atmosphere, oddly shaped percussion instruments, Pollock-esque paint splattering, and ass-shaking music. From a small show in New York in the late 1980s that led to the Broadway hit, Tubes, the mute, black-clad Blue Man Group has performed its way to permanent shows in New York, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Orlando, and Berlin. Their quirky, pulse-raising show has become a household-name live-entertainment brand, and their latest Megastar World Tour, selling out wherever it stops, promises to bolster their reputation.
