For the past 10 years, Bar Abilene has served as an Uptown hub. On weeknights it's a stopping point for a quick beer before a movie at the Lagoon or Uptown theaters, in the summer it's a great place to stop for a snack after walking around the lake, and on Saturday nights it's packed with friendly yuppies drinking themselves silly and texting in the bathroom. A country-western bar in a land of snow and lakes, the modern-styled bar and restaurant serves some of the best margaritas in town. In celebration of reaching its 10th anniversary, Bar Abilene will be stepping up its happy hour. Mondays through Fridays everything in the restaurant will be half off, meaning half off on the over 100 tequilas served, half off the margaritas (from classic to hibiscus to the Mojitorita), and half off the guacamole, made to order right at your table. Want to bring the kiddies? They eat free daily from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. when you buy an entrée for yourself at regular price. Want to give back to the community and save a buck? During the Sunday champagne brunch (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), you get $3 off when you bring a food shelf item.
