Ground Noise and Static

We all have at least one story to tell about the RNC. Perhaps you attended one of the awesome RNC-protest music shows around town. Maybe you snuck into a Republican fundraiser in one of the posh downtown Minneapolis bars. And if you were a reporter, chances are you spent at least some time covered in mace in jail. If so, then Pepperspray Productions may have been there with you. This past year they spent time documenting the political action outside, from the designated protest cages to surprise protests on the streets. There they filmed police brutality and, when things got rough, even riots. Never head of Pepperspray? They are also the brains behind video activist quarterly The Leader, as well as the public-access show Indymedia Presents, which airs on Channel 17 Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. This Monday they will screen a 30-minute report on protests and activism that occurred at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. A talk will follow the screening.
Mon., Dec. 15, 6:30 p.m., 2008
