Holidazzle Parade

It's true: Kids, adults, and squirrels love sparkly things. Be it the freezing temperatures, the Crown Royal, or the primal need to find and bury treats, the joy in twinkling lights and sparkly things seem to intensify during the holiday season. This is perhaps why the Holidazzle Parade continues to be a beloved tradition in the Twin Cities. Children and parents can delight in the flashing, glittering, star-lit floats, marching bands, and costumed characters. Partiers will find joy in the spectacle and will hardly notice the cold after hitting up the nearby bars for happy hour (or take the bus and bring a flask if you are on a budget). Squirrels, well, it's probably best you stay away; the loud noises and people will just scare you. Looking to experience Holidazzle in the warmest way possible? Hot seat tickets will set you back only $9, and come with heated bleacher seats and all the hot chocolate and cider you can handle; you probably would have spent that much on gas driving to brightly decorated houses around town anyway. Free. 6:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Route travels Nicollet Mall between 12th and 4th Streets. Through December 21
Thursdays-Sundays, 6:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 28. Continues through Dec. 21, 2008
