Electric Arc Radio Show: A Very Brady Christmas

Does the true meaning of Christmas lie in hair—the hair of years past, present, and future? Sure, why not? Most of us find special holiday meaning in things like family, group binge eating, and animated Christmas specials. This seasonal presentation of Electric Arc will find the holiday spirit in the hair of Brady Bergeson, one of four struggling writers (plus Alan Greenspan) who live together in wacky harmony in Minneapolis. Brady is a dapper man, who loves his ascots almost as much as he loves dwelling in the basement. His recent ponytail growth may have confused those around him, but eventually it will lead them to the true meaning of Christmas. Throw in performances by Jeremy Messersmith and the New Standards, as well as regulars like Mohammed the paperboy, Clerky the liquor store clerk, punk poet Paul D, and Bono, and you have a holiday special that beats the thousandth screening of A Charlie Brown Christmas any day. $20. 8 p.m. 345 13th Ave. NE, Minneapolis; 612.436.1129.
Sat., Nov. 29, 8 p.m., 2008
