Throw caution to the wind November 15 and 16. Let your guard down and fully indulge in the fifth annual Twin Cities Chocolate Extravaganza, where chocolate, gourmet foods, coffee, chocolate, wine, liqueur, gifts, and more chocolate will be enveloping all five senses during the two-day event. Thank the fashion gods that leggings paired with fuller dresses and sweaters are still in vogue for fall, because if it's humanly possible to consume too much chocolate, this is the event at which to reach that threshold. Is chocolate not your lovahh? Fear not, as there is plenty to do and see without the pressure to stuff your face with cacao. Along with tastings for every type of chocolate, there is a chocolate martini lounge with a Bloody Mary bar, live chef demonstrations, educational wine tasting, and chocolate pairing seminars. Fashionistas will appreciate the chocolate fashion show: For the third year in a row, students from Le Cordon Bleu have paired up with students from the Art Institute of Minnesota to create a chocolate fashion show featuring ensembles all embellished with chocolate. If you love a good competition, catch the professional pastry chefs and culinary students who will be competing to create the most delectable chocolate wedding cake, confection, showpiece, novelty cake, and bread all in the 2008 theme: sports. Tickets are available online, over the phone, at the show, or at a variety of Kowalski's and Panera Bread locations. Go to www.mspchocolateshow.com for more information.
