For every little girl who dreams of pink ballerina shoes or prancing horses, there is another who dreams of Olympic gold. There's that hope that somehow, no matter how impossible it may seem, she will someday land that back layout on the balance beam, she will stay in bounds on a tumbling run, and she will land on two feet after propelling herself impossibly skyward on the vault. Though for most of us this is more metaphor than reality, the women and men of this tour are actually living the dream. Performing today will be all-around Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin, balance beam gold medalist Shawn Johnson, medalists Paul and Morgan Hamm, and Jonathan Horton, as well as many other gymnasts who have defied gravity, denied physical pain, and dedicated themselves to hard work to achieve their goals. Purely exhibition, this won't be the nail-biting competition that you are used to seeing on NBC, however, kids and older gymnastic fans alike should enjoy performances in all their acrobatic glory.
