Ballet of the Dolls: Born to be Alive

If ever a dance group was destined to recreate the highs and lows of the disco dance floor, it's the Ballet of the Dolls. Their new work Born to Be Alive is more than a throwback to John Travolta's legendary leisure-suit shimmying in Saturday Night Fever or the cocaine-fueled heyday of Studio 54—it's an exploration of the many triumphs and tears experienced under the spinning mirror ball. There's plenty of love, loneliness, lust, and even a bit of lunacy, but most of all we get to enjoy the Dolls, under the direction of Myron Johnson, becoming the true disco divas we all know they are.
