We all want brains. However, if the word "brains" makes you hungry rather than prompting intellectual discourse, chances are you are a zombie. This Saturday, zombies will be coming out of their mausoleums, graveyards, and efficiency apartments in search of brains, beer, and feel-good hip hop. Not sure how to dress? Although past zombie crawls have featured zombie-fied icons like Michael Jackson and Jesus, costumes can be as simple as putting on a dress shirt and rolling around in the dirt. Also important, according to the crawl's website: The appearance of rotting flesh and blood can be created using food coloring, corn syrup, and oatmeal. So meet at Gold Medal Park a little before 4 p.m. ready to limp about in search of brains. Kids are welcome before the booze crawl begins around 6 p.m. (though keep the younger kids at home; sometimes costumes are really realistic). After the thirst for brains has been sated, the search for booze begins down Washington Avenue, where drink specials will be available for those who moan at designated zombie bars. The deadening climaxes at 10 p.m. with a zombie party at the Cabooze featuring zombie-e-oke, art by poster artist Dwitt, and hip hop by Dance Band and MC/VL. For more info check out zombiepubcrawl.com/_2008/. Crawl starts at 4 p.m. at Gold Medal Park (900 S. Second St., Minneapolis). The Cabooze party (917 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis; 612.338.6425) is 18+, with a $5 admission (zombies free) at 10 p.m.
