It is often said that an election year is like a three-ring circus. The "UnConvention" takes this saying to a new level by hosting a daylong, well, circus. The nonpartisan event will include readings of Walt Whitman's poetry and American presidents' speeches, and a lecture by University History Professor Jane Blocker, all against a swirling carnival of barkers, musicians, and stilt walkers. Frogtown-based film director Mark Wojahn will screen and discuss his project, What America Needs. The evening will end with Professor Ali Momeni and his students projecting their films on the side of the shiny Weisman building. Exchange ideas, discuss, act, and look for other events presented by the "UnConvention," a Minnesota collective.
