Solo and as half of the Queens duo Capone-N-Noreaga, Victor "Noreaga" Santiago helped reestablish New York crime-rap as something deeper and more explicitly tragic than its Southern and Cali counterparts in the '90s. Under the name N.O.R.E., he's more recently shown his Puerto Rican roots as an emergent reggaeton star. Tonight's First Avenue party should be a nexus of more traditional hardcore boombap and hip hop en español, with our own SP Style All Stars bridging the gap as warm-up. With Holy Smokes, Room Rock Ent, and DJ D. Mil. 18+.
