If you're an artist or art lover in the Twin Cities, this weekend is going to be a 72-hour art orgy. Three Minneapolis neighborhoods will host art festivals showcasing hundreds of the cities' artists. The Uptown Arts Fest at the corner of Lake and Hennepin will feature a dizzying number of artists' booths, music all weekend (church tunes on Sunday), a special "Tomorrow's Stars Seen Today" area for artists between the ages of 8 and 18, and a wine garden. The 17th annual Powderhorn Art Fair in shady Powderhorn Park offers you a chance to see artists from several states. And because proceeds from the fair fund park projects, you're sure to get warm fuzzies when buying. Loring Park will be packed with 140 artists, as well as a dance and performance stage with acts varying from hoop dancing to accordion music. With this much art to absorb in a single weekend, it would be painful to have to choose one over the others. Metro Transit, however, is offering free rides aboard the Art Hop bus, leaving every 20 minutes to each of the festivals. Loring Park Art Festival (Willow Street at W. 14th Street, 612.203.9911, www.loringpartartfestival.com) is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
