Queertopia: A Cabaret Celebration of Queer Love
Published on June 25, 2008
Queertopia started up three years ago in collaboration between Outward Spiral Theatre Company, Eleanor Savage, and Intermedia Arts. Their vision was to create a cabaret performance for pride weekend that focused on positivity, openness, and sexiness around queerness (insert Republican National Convention joke here). This year, curators Jeffry Lusiak and Morgan Thorson have assembled performers including Bedlam's YXY News Team, poet Andrea Jenkins, monologist Charles Shuminski, gender bender Randy Dandy, breakdancer B-Girl Seoul, and the Hula Hoop Troop. Oh, and Lisa Ganser's movie, Pussy Pirates. Angst-ridden self-loathing is strongly discouraged.
Thursdays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Fridays, 7 p.m. Starts: June 26. Continues through June 27, 2008
