Big Blowout: Phase II

By Jessica Armbruster

Published on June 19, 2008 at 3:21am

The maiden voyage for Big Blowout featured live art and free music with Tapes 'n Tapes at Triple Rock Social Club. Phase 2 of the music and art fest will be housed and the dive bar/tiki lounge Pyscho Suzi's, a spot known by many for its awesome patio space, complete with lit torches, thatched roof areas, and fencing so high you almost forget that there's an industrial factory structure right across the street. Featured this night will be art activities for grown-ups, including live art by Anthem Heart. Print artists from the group will be creating free custom works (choose from a variety of colors and designs) screened onto T-shirts for all to wear. Video artists Time Squid will have a designated area where patrons can respond to visual stimuli that will be recorded and used to create future art works. And those who missed the ArtCar painting at the Stone Arch Festival will be able to participate in another ArtCar creation. Live music includes local bands These Modern Socks, Solid Gold, and Cosmic Comedy, to name a few. Select food items will be beer-battered with Pabst, which is sponsoring the event, and $2 PBR Tallboys will be available throughout the night. 21+.
