Crafstravaganza

You'd have to do a lot of gallery and store hopping throughout the year to acquire a decent collection of goods made by local artists and craftspeople. Fortunately for those of us who are a tad lazy but still enthusiastic about pretty, handmade things, there's Craftstravaganza. At this yearly event, held once again at the State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, you'll find all-you-can-see arts and crafts friendly for all ages. Vendors will sell ironic baby wear and cute plushies, rock show print art, underwear made from recycled T-shirts, all-natural beauty products, and just about every style of hipster jewelry imaginable. There will also be live music throughout the day, including performances by Cadillac Kolstad and the Flats. Interested in creating crafts of your own? The Yarnery will be hosting a knitting workshop at the bright-eyed hour of 9 a.m., and there will be an outdoor craft station with kid-friendly projects throughout the day.
