Jim Norton

Jim Norton is a standup comedian probably best known for his work on The Opie and Anthony Show on XM Satellite Radio. Norton became a popular guest on that program while it was still on terrestrial radio. He became a full-time contributor after the divisive duo moved to satellite. On air and on stage, Norton is known for making audiences cringe with some of his observations. Sometimes he just delves into the semi-controversial. "It's interesting as a white comedian," he tells an audience. "Sometimes when you say the word 'race,' there's always a few white people in the audience that are like, 'Oh, we're not with him! Not sure where's he going with this.' Yet, if a black comedian mentions race, those same white people are like, 'Oh, this is going to be a doozey! Wonder what we did now? Oh! We are guilty of that! Ha! Ha! Ha!'" While Norton thinks that white people feel overly guilty at times, he does admit that there are exceptions. "If you're over 65 and you live in Alabama," he states, "Okay. Chances are you owe a few apologies."
