Fidgety Fairy Tales: The Mental Health Musical

Sleeping Handsome tries to escape the pain of his dad's death by pricking his finger on a spindle, while the Phobia Triplets channel Rapunzel's fears of staircases, open spaces, and possibly snarls. Meanwhile, Little Red Riding Hood suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder and can't concentrate long enough to get devoured by you-know-who. In "Fidgety Fairy Tales," a group of actors ages 10 to 18 are out to turn fairy tales topsy-turvy by combating damaging and negative stereotypes of mental health disorders like AD/HD, depression, and anxiety. Under the direction of multitalented playwright Matt Jenson and composer Marya Hart, classic tales are reshaped for our times. It's a great way to spend an hour with your kids that both entertains and enlightens—if you can sit still that long.
