Comedian Christian Finnegan has often said that he likes to talk about smart things in a stupid way, and stupid things in a smart way. That could mean a historical reference tied to some bathroom humor, or a breast joke punched up with a literary reference. Primarily trained as an actor, Finnegan gravitated toward comedy, he claims, as a way to get back at bullies who picked on him as a kid. Much of his material, in fact, is drawn from his upbringing. "Has there ever been a game of Monopoly that didn't end in a fight?" he asks an audience. "It usually ends with someone saying, 'Fuck this!' And throwing the pieces off the board." But then that's not really Finnegan's forte. "There are games I'm great at. You know what I'm great at? Trivial Pursuit. What good is that going to do you in life? It has the world 'trivial' in the name!"
