A visit with the hurricane victims that a country forgot.
When I was a kid, my youth group decided to take us kids sledding, telling us that they would provide the sleds. We were a little dismayed to find that the sleds they had brought were actually garbage bags and cafeteria trays. But even though they weren't ideal, we had a fun time. That said, there will most likely be nary a trash-bag sled in sight this Saturday afternoon. Hailed as "part art-car parade, part x-sport event, part monster truck rally," participants will take maiden slide voyages down groomed and decorated hills. I've heard rumors that there will be bouncing sleds, double-decker sleds, and winged sleds pimped to the hilt (frozen peas are apparently in the decorative mix as well). Live music and warm drinks will add to the festivities. So, whether you have your own art sled, or just want to watch the hilarity, it should be a good time. For more info call 612.722.8640.
