Dave Attell

Dave Attell's comedy is rooted in those dodgy, post-midnight decisions Mom warned you about; his jokes stagger through bad sex and worse hangovers like a drunk on rollerblades. So it made sense for Comedy Central to have him host the early '00s' last-call travelogue Insomniac. A cross between Dirty Jobs and the notorious E! series Wild On..., Insomniac honored nutria-harvesting New Orleans officers, crime-scene cleaners, convenience-store clerks, and other denizens of the graveyard shift. However, drunken glory hounds were in danger of turning the series into the barfly version of MTV's spring break coverage, and Attell made the wise decision to quit while he was ahead. Since Insomniac's hiatus, Attell continues to hone his surreally debauched standup act. And it's only gotten funnier: Expect sparring with hecklers, loving tributes to the fruits of the grain (and grotesqueries of the groin), and f-bombs dropped with nimbleness and timing.
