Twins Fest

Twins fans, rejoice, spring training begins in just three weeks. You can almost smell the Astroturf and Domedogs. But to tide you over for the last frigid, baseball-deprived weeks, there's Twins Fest. From the climate-controlled Metrodome, fans can pretend it's baseball season and relive past Twins glory with current and former players. Hall of Famers Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, and Paul Molitor will meet with fans and sign autographs. Current players scheduled to appear include fan favorites catcher Joe Mauer, starting pitcher Boof Bonser, and closer Joe Nathan. In addition to rubbing elbows with the greats, fans' fantasies of outdoor baseball will be kindled by the 1/16th scale, five-by-five foot model of the new Twins ballpark set to open in April 2010. Twins staff and architects will be present to answer questions about the 40,000-seat park. Young fans who just can't resist throwing the horsehide around any longer can dust off their mitts and brush up on skills in clinics and demonstrations. For those in the American Idol mood, there will be open auditions to sing the National Anthem at a game next season. For more info visit www.twins.mlb.com or call 612.33.TWINS.
