For some, rock 'n' roll and posters go together like peanut butter and jelly—when smashed together they cause undeniable nostalgia for concerts and sounds of the past (be it 10 years ago or just last weekend). Amy Jo Hendrickson has been creating gig posters for the past five years, and this retrospective show will highlight her best work. Beginning with simple designs and limited colors, the North Dakota native (and current Minnesota resident) has expanded her repertoire to screen prints featuring layered colors, intricate designs, and sometimes, sparkle. Her work has been used to promote acts such as Joan Jett, Jay Reatard, and Le Tigre, as well as local events including the Square Lake Music and Film Festival, and even CD art for the Midnight Evils. The party kicks off with a jam by the Blind Shake, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday, December 7.
