Mann's brittle perspectives, lonely soul, and heart that aches in the face of beauty makes her the perfect songstress for those of us who can't help but celebrate the season, even as we experience it as a mixed bag of hysteria and numbness. And after her appearance at the Varsity was canceled last month, cabaret firecracker Nellie McKay will finally be gracing Minneapolis with her witty, bratty prodigiousness. Former Mr. Show writer (and Drinking with Ian guest) Paul F. Tomkins will also be on hand, in case you're wondering why John Travolta's wigmaker is having the Best Week Ever.
