Liza Minelli

By Amber Schadewald

Published on September 12, 2007

At age 61, Liza Minnelli is still standing, despite three knee surgeries, dual hip replacements, and multiple trips to rehab and divorce court. She's earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but in recent years, the ol' gal has involved herself in projects even more deliciously bizarre than her role as Mrs. David Gest—including guest vocals on My Chemical Romance's album and appearances as a Buster-chasing post-cougar on Arrested Development. (Her 2006 visit on Larry King makes for particularly riveting YouTube viewing.) After a summer spent touring South America, she's back with a mix of show tunes, forgotten covers, and hits from her '89 album, Results. Put one jazz hand against the other for Liza-with-a-Z, a woman capable of causing more disorientation than an entire ark full of clanging, flashing, strobing slot machines.
