More About
This month, Kico's schedule is a little light. He'll be playing ballroom dance music at the Medina Country Club on June 20, jazz standards at Town and Country Club on June 21, modern and Latin jazz at Matty B's on June 23, dinner music at Somerset Country Club on June 28, and Mexican and American music at Cherokee Park on July 4—a tradition he's kept up for 15 years.
There's one other thing—besides an album—that has managed to elude Rangel: an appreciation of country music. That said, after 50 years of taking requests, he isn't about to get picky. "I'll play it," he says, smiling. "But I'm not into it."
