Cornerstone has support and educational groups available for victims of domestic abuse and their families and friends. All services are FREE and confidential. Childcare provided for most groups. Please call 612-884-0376 and ask to speak with an advocate to join a group.

Women In Transition

Women In Transition offers seminars for the woman considering significant career change. Learn how to transfer skills to a new career or advance within your field. This seminar includes aptitude testing, skills identification and values clarification. This accelerated seminar is for the employed or unemployed woman and will assist women in transferring skills to a new career. This is a five week seminar, one evening per week beginning November 9 from 6-9pm at the Lenox Community Center in St. Louis Park. For more information, or to register, call 612-752-8444.

Kids Count

Through June 2000

The South Family YMCA is now accepting registrations for "Kids Count," a weekly pre-school program for three, four and five year olds. Children will enjoy a safe, learning environment through fun and lightly structured activities. Small group activities include stories, songs, instructional swimming, gym play, and snack time. The South Family YMCA also offers after-school care for school-age children everyday from 3-6pm. Transportation is provided from four local schools. Rec Check

Through June 13

St. Paul Parks and Recreation will again sponsor Rec Check during the school year at 13 recreation centers in St. Paul. Rec Check is a "check-in" service for children in grades 1-6, who participate in after school recreation programs. Children check-in with a staff person upon arrival at the recreation center and check-out when leaving. Parents are notified when their child does not check in at the center. Youth take part in a variety of supervised activities such as games, crafts, sports, homework help, and field trips. FREE! One-five days per week, Mon-Fri 3-6pm. 651-266-6400.
