Zen Buddhism Information Session

Bachman's Holiday Open Houses

A perennial favorite for thousands of Twin Cities families, Bachman's Floral, Gift and Garden Centers kick-off the season with their annual Holiday Open Houses, a three-day event. The Holiday Open Houses are scheduled at Bachman's flagship store, 6010 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis, and their five other metro floral and garden center locations. Holiday festivities start at the Lyndale store when the Twin Cities' most famous Santa (played by actor Dick Holmberg) and Albert the Elf (played by actor Kevin Dutcher) entertain in their special toy workshop with an original, interactive holiday story. All Bachman's Bachman's Floral, Gift and Garden Centers have more holiday treats in store, including performances by Dickens' Carolers, special visits by costumed characters, live reindeer on display, prize drawings, gift and decorating ideas, and free cookies, cider and coffee. Hours for Bachman's Holiday Open Houses are Friday, Nov. 19, 8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 20, 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. All Bachman's stores will also have visits from Santa on scheduled weeknights during the holiday season. In Concert: John McCutcheon

A benefit for KidsPark, a drop-in child care service, the concert is sponsored by Mac-Groveland Community Council. John McCutcheon has become one of the best-selling and most-loved performers in family music. Join him, and Patty McCutcheon-American Sign Language Interpreter, at the Baumgaertner Auditorium at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. A Children's Concert (appropriate for ages four and up) is at 3pm, tickets are $5/advance and $6/at the door.
