Central Village Children's Book Drive

Central Village--The Way To Grow, a program of the Cedar Riverside People's Center, is soliciting quality used and new children's books to distribute to children and families throughout the Minneapolis area.

The mission of Central Village is to support and empower families in diverse neighborhoods to promote the healthy development of young children. Central Village especially hopes to receive culturally sensitive and bilingual children's books.

The children's books collected in the book drive will be distributed during individual home visits with families, and through local child-care centers, elementary schools, medical clinics, homeless shelters, and other organizations that serve children and families, and through family visits to the Hennepin County Jail.

Donated children's books can be brought to the Central Village office on the second floor of the Cedar Riverside People's Center, 425 - 20th Avenue South, Minneapolis. Arrangements can also be made to pick up donated books.

For more information on the book drive and/or upcoming family literacy activities, please call Rachel Orman, Children's Book Drive Coordinator at (612) 305-1284.
