The 1998 Winter Veterinary Seminar in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, costs from $1,695 to $2,195 per conventioneer and offers 24 hours of continuing education at the University of Minnesota. The brochure reads as follows:
Due to the overwhelming success and enjoyment of last year's program in Jamaica, the site of the 1998 Winter Veterinary Seminar will return to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and the all-inclusive Renaissance Jamaica Grande Resort. This luxurious beach resort offers a wide range of services and activities as well as one of the best conference facilities in the Caribbean. There is something for everyone at this all-inclusive resort.
Jamaica is an island of intoxicating natural beauty, from lush rain forests and mountainous terrain to spectacular waterfalls, wildlife sanctuaries, and some of the world's most beautiful beaches. February is a great time to vacation in Jamaica. There is very little rainfall and the average daytime temperature is around 85 degrees.
A total of 24 hours of continuing education will be available, covering specific areas of interest to the veterinarian in private practice. Our featured speakers are leading experts in their fields who will each provide 12 hours of continuing education as follows: 12 CE credit hours on veterinary orthopedics and 12 CE credit hours on veterinary ophthalmology. This excellent scientific program will consist of lectures, presentations of specific cases including the history, clinical signs, physical findings, diagnostic and treatment procedures, and group discussions. Each participant will receive a complete set of notes. Lectures will be conducted at convenient times to allow for plenty of time to enjoy the beauty and attractions that Jamaica has to offer.
