Open 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.- 3 a.m. Friday. $25 weekends/$19.50 weekdays/$15-$16 night skiing. Ski rental, ski school.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

Minnesota state ski passes of $1 per day, or $5 per season, are required for many cross country trails. In addition, a season pass into state parks is $18; daily passes are $4. CROW-HASSEN PARK RESERVE Sylvan Road, west of Rogers. 428-2765, 559-6778: 18 km trackset trails, 10 km skate/ski trails, intermediate - expert. Warming house, parking $4/day, ski pass required. Trail includes wooded and riverside land, winter camping available.

ELM CREEK PARK RESERVE 13080 Territorial Rd., Maple Grove, 559-6700: 15 km trackset trails, 10 km skate/ski, beginner. Visitors' center, ski pass required, parking $4/day. For lessons call Hennepin Parks Headquarters.

FORT SNELLING STATE PARKWAY Hwy. 5 and Post Rd., St. Paul: 725-2390: 30km trackset trails, 10 km skate/ski trails, beginner. Admission fee, warming house open on weekends, a shelter with fireplace open all week, ski pass required. Trail includes river bottom, prairie restoration, and riverside areas.

LUCE LINE STATE TRAIL North of Cty. Rd. 15 off Vicksbury Lane, Plymouth, 475-0371: 15 km trackset trails, ski pass required, beginner. Trail includes residential and wooded areas; passes by several lakes and ponds.

MINNESOTA ARBORETUM 3675 Arboretum Dr., Chanhassen, 443-2460: 8 m trackset trails, admission fee, intermediate. Rolling hills and hardwood/evergreen forests.

MINNESOTA ZOO 1300 Zoo Blvd., Apple Valley, 431-9308: 8 km groomed trails. Open daily 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Admission free with regular zoo admission.
